Long-awaited Update

Ah, yes. It's been over a year since I posted on this blog. You probably thought I had abandoned it. Not so! I decided to give the TV sitcom writing thing one last shot.

I recently finished a pilot script for a show tentatively titled Budget Jet. Hoping this goes somewhere in the New Year (2013). I need to send the script to get coverage. One person has given me good feedback so far. I will post a few snippets here if anybody's interested (IF anybody's reading this anymore :-P)---btw Bogger, still no smilies? Really?

Anyway, here's the episode synopsis to give you an idea of what the show's about:

BUDGET JET
"Plane Dysfunction"
Episode Synopsis

It’s flight attendant trainee Skye’s first day on the job. She must prove herself to her new Budget Jet “family” in order to earn her wings. She narrates her experiences through her naïvely optimistic blog. Meanwhile, CEO Evelyn Gold struggles to work with her bitter stepdaughter, Janice, to improve Budget Jet’s abysmal on-time stats and return the airline to black. Plane dysfunction derails both peon and CEO’s plans.

Well, wishing you all a happy holiday season wherever you are!

*snapping fingers* You may be right--duh-na-nuh-na-nuh-na-nuh--I may be crazy--duh-na-nuh-na-nuh-na-nuh--But it just may be a lunatic they're looking for... :)))

You could just as easily say that no one is going to waste their time watching people sitting in a bar, drinking. Yet CHEERS was a big hit for over a decade. I think the premise of flight attendants working together is good enough for a show. The hook will be on whether or not the characters are compelling and the writing is good.

Thanks for your support, JR! Famously, Seinfeld was a "show about nothing." You're right, it's about that magical combination of writing and casting. I'm not claiming to be a great sitcom writer (at least not yet, anyway). Am planning to get professional feedback on my script in the new year.

Bobby (aka Fijufic), I couldn't find your email address. My email is on the right column of this page. If you want, email me. Sorry (or congratulations?) for your life changes (I hope they turn out well! I've come to realize all change is good.)

Hello Ellen! I am a teacher of Geography in Brazil, and because of my profession, also keep a blog. In addition, I am passionate about aviation. I learned its history as a flight attendant and I became interested. It seems to me that you intend to release a book about it. Is it true? It will be released here in Brazil? I wish you much success after this unfortunate occurrence professional. I'm sorry for the mistakes in English!
